Le Fou’s Brew

In April of 2017 my family and I visited Walt Disney World, but only in the last couple of years has Gaston’s Tavern been open.  It’s already become one of our favorite hot spots!  Having been to Harry Potter World in 2011 I was able to sample the Butterbeer that they serve Butterbeer is a very addictive frozen beverage that is very hard to replicate in real life (I’ve tried many many times…).  But since trying Le Fou’s Brew, I have found that I like it just as well as frozen Butterbeer. However, this I CAN make at home!

Our first day in Orlando

in April my family and I went straight to Magic Kingdom park. I was 7 months pregnant. I was aware of my limitations but was too excited to be at Disney World to really respect those.  So I decided to run the park about as fast as a non-pregnant person would. I paid for that dearly at the end of the day.  But, my number one thing on my list was getting a Le Fou’s Brew and a giant cinnamon roll.

.

The flavor combination is wild.

It’s an apple drink mixed with toasted marshmallow, and a passion fruit mango foam on top.  And while this isn’t a perfect replica (since the top is actually cream instead of foam), it has the exact same flavor profiles and ends up tasting almost identical to what you would get Park.

Here’s the video:

I had a hard time finding the Toasted Marshmallow Syrup in stores, but I did find it on Amazon.  I’ve added a link here as well as some other items I used in the video (affiliate links).

Instructions
  1. Mix 1 can frozen apple juice concentrate with 2 cans water. You don't want to add the third can of water because we will be adding it later on. Put all of the juice into ice cube trays. Freeze until solid, about 4 hours
Topping
  1. Add the heavy whipping cream, mango juice, and passion fruit juice to an electric mixer bowl. Add the powdered sugar. Then beat until soft peaks form. Don't beat too much, or you'll make butter!! Place bowl with finished cream inside the fridge to chill while you complete the next steps.
Drink
  1. Once the juice is frozen, add all the cubes to a blender. Add 1/2 cups of cold water, and the toasted marshmallow syrup. Blend just until slushy.
  1. Pour the apple slush into a glass, and top with the fruit foam. Stir it up a bit with a straw so the flavors all blend!
